Agriculture is the main livelihood of 70% of the people in our country. One of the states in the country is famous for one crop. At present there is a radical change in agriculture in the country. Along with the change of era, there is also a touch of modernization in agriculture. Sayantan Saha, the founder of Medra Global ( www.mederaglobal.in), will also talk about a new experience.
It came from a remote town in the north of West Bengal. After finishing engineering in computer science & MBA, I started Medra Global with my father. I used to work with Mozilla Copr during my engineering days. My work has been rewarded with recognition through various social media. After that, Madera Global has created one step after another. This company wants to provide affordable healthcare for those who can afford it. The founder and his father are a board member of Medera Global. On December 08, 2016, Medera Global founded two main verticals, one for healthcare technology and the other for life sciences
Medera Global currently deals in Bioinformatics, Consulting, Digital Healthcare, Cutting edge technology development and products to name a few. We're aspiring to fly drones for medical logistics for which we have registered several categories of drones in DGCA.
We have foreign presence in the UK and now we’re on a spree to tap West Africa. Soon we will start to work there.

Well, how to establish a relationship with farmers? Because most of the farmers do not understand this digital platform?
Well that’s very simple actually. No need for rocket science to connect with them. All you need is a broad vision to cater their problem and a heart which can connect with their emotions for their product, Bang you’re connected.
My colleague Prosenjit who is also a core team member is a champ in this segment. He is an Agri veteran with vast expertise, he knows how to exactly connect with the farmers and ask them to join with us for their benefits and assistance through our platform. We call Prosenjit “ Krishak Kantha” ( Voice of the farmers) and everyday he proves that the name is made for him only because he deserves it. I myself, visited many remote places and talked with the farmers and I’ve always found them really communicating and helpful.
On that note till date we've boarded more than 200k plus farmers and the number is increasing day by day. Also we’re in the process of working with several governments.
How challenging was it to come up to this place from Mooseball?
Challenge is what gives us adrenaline rush, after all our core team is a set of adrenaline junkies. It was still pretty challenging but as I said with adrenaline rush we can cope up any challenges easily and our smiles proves that. Without challenge there is no gain , if you’re not facing any challenges then you’re not disrupting enough this is what I and my team believes in.
Although there are many other issues, why this digital agriculture?
Issues will be there, there’s nothing new on it. Without issues one can not find the right path for anything. So we're trying to solve very grassroot issues and combine them under one roof to make an ecosystem which will cater farmers, Cold storage owners, rice mill owners, Government and others under a single window system which is loaded with deep tech and easy to use UI for everyone or anyone. Our Agri drones and IOT solution with the help of blockchain keeps it ahead of competition and time.
Last but not the least this is our Intuitive Agrovet platform so we can cater and tap any domain related to agri.
What are your future plans?
Connect each and every stakeholder of the Agriculture domain and make this ecosystem more beneficial by leveraging technology. Also harness other resources to make Agri a mainstream income generation source for many out there. We’ve a lot of plans in the pipeline to implement, with time we will add more and update you all about it.
