BBP NEWS: Ram Kamal Mukherjee Joins Aritra Das’s Common Aadmi as Creative Producer; Pre-Teaser Out Now
Producer Aritra Das has unveiled the pre-teaser for his upcoming Hindi feature film Common Aadmi, offering a glimpse into an emotionally charged and inspiring tale set in the 1980s. Starring Anuj Anil Sharrma in the lead role, the film is directed by debutant Khushal S. Rathore and marks the launch of Aritra Das Creations, in association with Nurture Rise Productions.
Acclaimed author and filmmaker Ram Kamal Mukherjee has stepped in as the Creative Producer for the project. Based on Mukherjee's book Common Aadmi, the film follows the journey of Devendra Jain, a young man from Jaipur who defies his father’s wish for a secure government job to pursue his dream of becoming a Chartered Accountant.
Cinematographer Winston Joses captured the film across various locations in India, framing a narrative centered on how extraordinary an ordinary life can become when driven by ambition.
Das, who started his Mumbai production career with the 2017 Hindi short film Cakewalk under Assorted Motion Pictures, expressed enthusiasm about collaborating with Mukherjee once again.
"I am delighted that Ram Kamal agreed to bring his creative perspective to the project. His inputs have added considerable depth to the film," said Das. He also praised Rathore’s directorial vision, noting his dedication to capturing the authentic atmosphere of the period.
Mukherjee, who has shared a decade-long professional partnership with Das, highlighted the creative challenge of his new role. "My responsibility was to guide debutant director Khushal S. Rathore and his team creatively and ensure that the palette and the narrative walked hand in hand," Mukherjee noted.
Rathore expressed gratitude for the opportunity to helm the project, acknowledging both Das and Mukherjee for their guidance during the process. "Telling the story of a common man is not that easy," Rathowre said. "I hope and pray people enjoy the film as much as we’ve enjoyed making it."
Alongside Anujj Anil Sharrma in his debut lead role, Common Aadmi introduces Sreeja Dutta, with special appearances by veteran actors Rituparna Sengupta and Sonali Kulkarni.
